New York, NY -- The Haynes and Boone, LLP New York office has expanded its intellectual property litigation capabilities with the addition of two experienced partners, John Hintz and Richard D. Rochford.

With the New York pair, the firm’s IP litigation practice has now grown by five partners this month alone.

Rochford has served as lead counsel in more than 100 intellectual property lawsuits. His patent cases involve a wide array of technologies, from chemical catalysts developed by a Nobel prize-winning scientist, to vaccines, medical devices, VOIP systems and lasers. Charged by his former firm to build an intellectual property practice group, Rochford led an IP team that achieved tenfold growth.

Hintz has more than 20 years of experience in intellectual property litigation. He has worked on all aspects of patent disputes and has litigated in federal courts throughout the country and before the International Trade Commission. He has represented clients in a wide range of industries covering diverse technologies, including search engines, financial services, bar-code scanning, Internet-related businesses, telecommunications, computer simulations, commodity chemicals, polymers, process control instruments, medical devices, and life sciences.

Haynes and Boone Managing Partner Terry Conner said IP litigation expansion is a significant investment in an increasingly vital area for clients. Earlier in May, the practice added three partners from Dickstein Shapiro – Philip G. Hampton II and Bradley J. Olson inWashington, D.C., and Kimberley Chen Nobles, who is based in California but also practices in Washington, D.C.

The capabilities of the new partners complement the nationally recognized talents of more than 50 IP litigation practitioners currently handling IP enforcement and defense in patent litigation as well as trademark, copyright, and trade secret litigation and arbitration.

Haynes and Boone’s IP litigation practice is particularly strong because of the group’s close collaboration with the firm’s other IP practitioners in patent prosecution, patent re-examination, technology transactions, and trademark prosecution, clearance and enforcement.
